I tried Mezzevino during their opening week and found the staff to be attentive and service to be very prompt. The ambiance was nice and I'm surprised they were able to make the space that was formerly Champion House (remember that??) and Kuroshio look so rustic and different. However, none of this matters much because my entree, beef over the hummus, was SO, SO SALTY it was practically inedible. I told the manager about this hoping that this was an opening week mistake but reading some of the other reviews, it seems like this is still an issue. I had the worst stomachache afterwards. I will say the little pita bread they serve as an appetizer is pretty good and my friend got one of the pasta dishes and we found that it was a generous portion for the price. However... the hummus... yuck.

Lots of potential but really disappointed. Went with my girlfriend last night, and we tried several small plate courses. Cliff notes: The crostini with eggplant and fried egg is one of the better bites of food I've had recently. Absolutely outstanding. The savory olive and pickled pepper crostini was good, but not great. The meatballs were meh. The eggplant chips were surprising and excellent. The Lebanese lamb flatbread was outstanding. The pansoti was one of the better pasta dishes I've ever eaten in A2. Really really good. In summation, the food here was pretty damn good. The decor is also excellent. Not sure whether to thank the brain trust at Main St Ventures, the architect, or the contractor that did the work, but well done all the way around. So why the 2 stars? In one word: service. Not good. It was fast, it was efficient, but it was basically Diner service. Our waitress clearly had been cut already when we were sat in her section and wanted nothing to do with us. Accordingly, she spent the minimum amount of time possible at our table. As we sat down, I basically set the expectation. "Hey, this is our first time here. Any suggestions on the cocktails?" Nothing. I even narrowed it down to two for her to choose from, and she had no guidance at all. Likewise, she offered no help whatsoever on the food. No help on the glass of wine my girlfriend selected. No two minute/two bite check to make sure that everything was good. Not once--and we were delivered food six different times. Etc, etc. Again, it was nice, fast, and efficient. But it wasn't the service I want or expect when i'm dropping $100 on a dinner for two. It was essentially Diner/Coney Island service. There's too many places in A2 for me to go where I know both the food AND there service will be great, so I doubt I will be back. If I do, I'll sit at the bar for sure.

The chicken with the chick peas was very good. Service was very average. The beef with brandy entree with hummus was over cooked and had no flavor. The lamb flat bread was very good but about he size of a large piece of pizza for $11.95 - way over priced! The wine list was impressive.

The first thing you'll notice here is the beautiful, classy atmosphere. It feels like a nice dinner out, but not so fancy that you'll wish you dressed up more. All of the small plates I tried were great! One of the stand-outs was lamb topped with bechamel sauce in a cast iron skillet. This dish had just a hint of cinnamon that went perfectly with the lamb and cheese. I also enjoyed the chevre and chorizo. My favorite part of the meal was dessert! My boyfriend and I tried a caramel mousse and tart. Both were fantastic, and small enough that we were not stuffed. The wine selection is good, and they bring out the whole bottle so you can refill as you please.

I hate to give this place only two stars because the service was AMAZING. But....it just left me wanting more. I had to actually send back a plate because it was so blah (chicken and chickpeas). I ordered the shrimp, fried cheese, cheese platter with prosciutto, some bread with an egg on it and the couscous. The couscous was good but I feel like the food just lacks flavor. In full disclosure I haven't eaten yet. But thought it was worth issuing a warning that happy hour prices do not apply anyplace but the bar (patio, rest of restaurant). Even when you specifically ask about happy hour specials, they will seat you outside without mentioning this fact. They did it to us and another table at the same time - both of our parties left after that, because seriously? Happy hour prices are happy hour prices. If they aren't, you should call them bar specials. Other places in town do not make this distinction that seating determines price.

The ambience is really nice and I like the exposed kitchen and lamb spits..nice authentic touch. I came here on opening night, so they may have just been working their kinks out. We ordered three dishes between the two of us to share. The lamb and couscous appetizer, which was delicious but just slightly warm and definitely could have been better if it was warmer. We also ordered the orechiette pasta, which was also lukewarm and the pasta was over cooked/too soft. Other than that the pasta dish was very well flavored and a large portion. Lastly, the flatbread pizza was delicious.

I love mezzevino- for a special occasion, happy hour of for dinner with a friend. They have 1/2 off sangria pitchers during happy hour at the bar. Their crostini trio and their mix and match cheese/meat boards are great appetizers and their lamb is the best in town. I have never had a problem getting in on a busy night without a reservation.

This has generally been an unlucky spot for restaurants that don't seem to survive here (maybe because of how large the space is). We were excited about this newest Main Street Venture when it first opened up but unfortunately the food wasn't good enough to bring us back. We tried a variety of the small plates and it was inconsistently good or not so good. Their drinks were great but because our experience with the food was not so great we have not been back since.

I don't know why ratings are not five-star for this place. Have been there three times and I think the food is topnotch. Went for my girlfriend's birthday just this week and everything was superb. I got the spicy lamb flatbread pizza for an appetizer and I thought the flavor combination with the tzatziki was mouth-watering. My girlfriend got the kale salad and split the artichoke with a friend. When they were out of artichoke leaves they considered licking the plate it was so good. For dinner, I had the braised beef Marrakesh and it was cooked perfectly. Every time I'm in there, the restaurant is relatively empty and I don't get it. I'm a huge Ann Arbor foodie and I'd stack their food up against anyone else in the mid- to upper-price/expectation.

Pleasantly surprised with this place. We had a meat and cheese plate, hummus and the gyros platter. We enjoyed all of food and it was a good change of pace type of restaurant for us. The service was attentive and friendly. The physical space is great with an excellent bar set up. This would be 3 1/2 stars for me if I could.

One of my favorite restaurants in the city. Main Street Ventures is spot-on with everything here. The atmosphere and decor is classy but relaxed, almost reminiscent of an oceanside eatery in the Mediterranean. The service is always friendly and attentive. The food comes out really quickly. The food itself is amazing. They do tapas dining, so there are a lot of smaller portions meant to be shared family-style. Everything is fresh and has a unique spin. My favorites are hummus (of course), the falafel salad, rustic greek salad, calamari, and the eggplant crostini. As far as drinks, I always go with sangria or the "evolving eos."

Given the other reviews of Mezzevino, I was hesitant to give the place a try, especially given its price. Needless to say, though, I was pleasantly surprised. Almost every dish we tried was pretty good. I would say the starter bread was a bit of a let down for me. The concept of the rosemary infused bread was good, but I felt the accompanying butter really didn't help bring out the flavor. Our first dish was the hummus. I had heard mixed reviews from the other Yelpers, but I would say that it was a pretty well done hummus dish. It was a bit on the thicker side, but also had a nice spice level. The pita bread seemed like your average store-bought kind, but still was nice and soft. We also had an eggplant crustini-like appetizer, with a poached egg on top. This had some excellent flavors and was very good. For more of the entree type dishes, we had the lamb flatbread and the Greek chicken entree. Both of these dishes were excellent. The lamb and goat cheese flatbread was cooked perfectly, and expertly seasoned. With the yogurt sauce, it almost got a bit soggy at times, but for the most part retained its crunch and depth of flavors. The chicken entree was also very good. The chicken fell of the bone, and the potatoes that accompanied it were okay. For dessert, we had the Loukoumades. These were like fried dough balls with a sweet honey sauce on top. They were also pretty good, essentially like a mini doughnut in a honey dip. Overall, I was happy with the dinner choice and will definitely come back again.

Went to a pre-opening dinner for a special event. Nice place, with trendy bare brick walls, wood floors, few glass panels, and pale green accents. Not all dishes were available (due to various circumstances with opening week), but what we did order was good. Dishes I would highly recommend (these were more eloquently named on their iPad based menus): Cucumber gazpacho (excellent!) Marinaded chicken over garbanzo beans Beef served over hummus - perfectly cooked and tender, but very salty Service was great, although it was a dress rehearsal for the staff and so each table had their own. I wouldn't give 5 stars for two reasons: First, many things were extremely salty (and I'm not usually one to complain about salt) - the sauce on the beef for one, as was the hummus. And the bouillabaisse was all but inedible. Secondly, it was crazy loud. I couldn't hear the person across from me, let alone the server describing specials. They need some more... something... to absorb the noise. I considered 3 stars, but given the promise of the dishes once a few opening night jitters are worked out, decided to give the benefit of the doubt. We'll be back!

This place has really gone downhill. The plate presentations are sloppy, the "flavors" are lackluster, and the service is hit or miss. If I wanted to pay this much for this quality of product I could have went to a much nicer establishment. Hell, I can get a better gyro at Ahmos. I expected more from a Main Street concept.

I have only been once, but I really enjoyed it. A girl friend and I got two dishes and shared them both, and they were both good (orrechiette and something I forgot!) and the ambience and wine were enjoyable. We were seated at the tall tables near the bar, and I enjoyed it there. I am not a huge fan of tablets as menus... after looking at a computer, iPad, or iPhone most of the day, I am not sure who wants to see more bright lights on their menu at dinner? I feel that it impeded conversation a bit since we were both clicking around, looking at pictures, etc. I am old fashioned, I guess. Just give me a paper menu and I am good! Other than that, I really enjoyed my experience here. It is a huge restaurant and would be good for groups.

The place was hopping during restaurant week which made it pretty noisy and hard to hear. Lots of hard surfaces to bounce the sound off. Excellent service as well. Meal served promptly. This review is based on 5 separate dining experiences here. The common theme with this establishment: inconsistency. My first time was their opening night. The server was very nervous as we were her first table. ever. We ordered a bottle of wine and she brought out wine by the glass. We had to order again. Of a few dishes we ordered, the we loved Braised lamb with couscous, Orrechiette, and lebanese lamb flatbread pizza. Although we loved the flavor of all three dishes, none of them were hot. Or warm, even. We really had issues with temperatures. We sat near the kitchen and they kept burning flatbread in the oven and the area would fill with smoke. This happened over and over again and when we got home, our clothes smelled like burnt bread. The second time, the hostess sat us. Within seconds, a server came to ask us what we wanted to drink. We asked for a few minutes to look over the wine menu. 20 minutes went by and the server never came back. We left. The third-fifth times, we stuck to a few dishes that we have tried and liked, but the consistency of the food always varied (temperature, flavor, etc). Service was also inconsistent- we really enjoyed our third time with a bartender as our server. The other times, we had a difficult time ordering wine. Server not knowing the name of the wine we were ordering (and asking us to point out the picture on the tablet), not refilling water glasses, having to wait for the server to come back to check on us so we can order another round of dishes, etc. It's a good restaurant to get together with friends and share dishes. Although, not a place where you can count on good service and good food every time.

My husband, two friends of ours and myself went to Mezzevino on 1/23/15. We were celebrating my 30th birthday and it was also restaurant week. Our waitress ( whose name I unfortuantely cannot remember!) was simply amazing. She explained everything on the resturant week menu, helped us make decisions and also suggested her favorites. One of the people in our party has a serious food allergy so we made her sure of that right off the bat.. She was extremely accomodating and understanding. We had the hummus with pita, summer pizza and the calamari to begin with. The hummus with the fried chickpeas on top was fabulous. It was surrounded by a touch of chili flake oil which gave it some flavor, but didn't overpower it. The sauce to the calamari was fabulous and the pizza was gone in about 2 minutes. It was just so fresh and had such bright flavors. Finally, we also had the rustic greek salad. Instead of lettuce, the salad was made up of chunks of cucumber, tomato, kalamata olives, red onion and feta. Divine. The orreccheti pasta with lamb sausage is the stuff dreams are made of. It was simply out of this world. My super picky husband loved it and went back for more, even thought it didn't last very long. The beef tips and the chicken gyro platter were also amazing. I had never had beef with hummus but it was simply devine. Finally, the dessets were ingenious. Donuts with a honey lavendar sauce= YUM. We also had something that resembled baklava, but different. The wipped cream was homemade and super light and fluffy. It was simply an amazing dinner from start to finish. The dinner took us about 2.5 hrs to eat. All plates were sent out in a timely fashion but we didn't feel rushed or overwhelmed. It was an amazing meal and was only $28/ couple! We can't wait to go back soon. It was the perfect 30th birthday dinner :)

Return visit: After reading so many recent reviews I was hesitant yet curious to try things for myself. On my previous visits and review the food and service both were great. From the time you order to the time you get your food can take a little while and dishes do not come out all together. But this is how they wanted it to be because of the small plates. The artichoke, which has had issues with doneness my last visit, I was happy to see was cooked properly now. Service was wonderful as well. I wasn't sure which wine I wanted as they have so many and my server kindly let me try a small sample of the ones i was deciding between to be sure. I did notice that they have made adjustments since there opening. Happy Hour is different and they now offer a late night Happy Hour which I was pleased to take part in. They are now also offering a tasting menu where you can decide between having 4 or 6 courses available when five or more people order it which seemed appealing. I am not sure why there have been so many negative comments lately as we really enjoyed everything and look forward to returning. There are still so many dishes that I would like to try however every time I come I end up craving the same ones.

I have been here once before for an event and was happy with the food and service. Went back for my birthday and fell in love. The food was delicious, we all passed our plates around to sample each others choices, but the service was amazing. They went above and beyond. Very happy I choose this for my birthday, and will be back. The food was pretty good, our server/bartender was a bit pushy. My husband and I dined in for our first date night in months, and wanted a relaxing romantic googly-eyed night out with one another. The bartender wouldn't leave us be! We didn't realize that the table we were placed at was part of the bar service area. "Are we ready to get the first course in, folks? Ready to order now?" We told him we were just going to take our time, but minutes after being rushed into our first plate, he wanted to know what we were going to have for seconds. The first plate wasn't even there yet! Our romantic dinner was over in 30 minutes. My recommendation is, if you're in the mood for tapas-style food, head a few blocks up to Adventura, unless you're craving fast food, then Mezzevino is the place for you.

I met a girlfriend there yesterday for drinks and small plates. My cocktail was pretty good, though $9.95 seems pricey to me. Happy Hour pricing only applies if you sit at the bar, which I did not know until I got the check. I had the meatballs and the artichoke. The meatballs were OK. The artichoke was kind of tough, and there was way too much of the thick sauce. Service was EXCELLENT.

We were a party of 6 people and got the pre-set family style menu and were not disappointed. I really don't understand why the reviews aren't better. This is possibly the best Greek restaurant I have ever been to! The hummus was fantastic and tasted unique and unlike any other hummus I have had. The pita bread seemed homemade and was also full of flavor unlike normal pita breads. We had the snapper on the pre-set menu which was amazing and I am not even a snapper person! The dessert plate they gave us was also incredible with so many different options! A bottle of wine is really cheap there and the service was great. My only complaint is that their happy hour for drinks is only if you sit at the bar and we ordered drinks and didn't realize this and they did not honor the happy hour price. Then again, it was stated clearly on the menu and we just didn't read it. Definitely, definitely recommend! I wish there was a Greek place like this in Miami! Also, the pre-set menu is 4 courses for about $22/person and you need at least 5 people to do it. I think it is only on certain days of the week so call in advance to confirm.

By far my FAVORITE place to eat. I come here for all celebrations & I live about 35 minutes away. Their eggplant chips are phenomenal & their lamb and hummus dinner is to die for. The wait staff is wonderful and the head cook Dexter is awesome!! I highly recommend trying Mezzevino!

Well, you'll definitely be engaged in some nice conversations, because the decor is not much to look at. As per usual, Mainstreet Ventures has outfitted this establishment with tablet menus (the power button is on the top of the right side for all you iPad users, and you can tone down the brightness by clicking the time in the bottom right and then the settings). I love having these menus, just tap on any dish and a picture pops up along with a little description. We ordered the hummus, calamari, meatballs, italian summer flatbread, and lahme (which is braised beef tips, before anyone gets confused). The hummus, calamari, and flatbread were really good. For some reason though, our lahme came with a different hummus (or so it tasted) that I did not like at all. The meatballs were just ok. Part of the poor rating was the service. [Skip this paragraph if you do not care about minor details regarding attentiveness in your dining experience] People were very attentive when we walked in (one person telling a hostess would be right- oh, there she is, then the hostess went to check on the table, then three other people informing us a hostess would be there to greet us shortly), but our waiter was not very good. He was pretty unhelpful at suggesting dishes, even though he began his spiel recommending that we order multiple little plates to share between us. We were constantly asking for water (they should consider the carafe on the table that many other restaurants have adopted) and he left the wine glasses on the table (and a marked bottle to encourage you to drink more, despite how cumbersome it may be on the table) which made fitting everything on the table a game of Tetris. What made this worse was that he assured us that the kitchen wasn't busy so we could get starters and decide on the main courses later, but then he never bothered to finish our orders until after we polished off the appetizers, further cluttering up the table with those menus. Of course, it was only after this that he mentioned the chicken our friends ordered would take 15 minutes to prepare, and actually by the time their food came out we had finished eating our lahme. None of this actually aggravated personally, just things that I noted about the level of employee training that might annoy others based on the price and the caliber of service you would expect. EDIT: I would like to add on this review that a representative from Mezzevino promptly contacted me to listen to my concerns and address them with the staff. I am looking forward to returning and seeing if the quality of service now matches the food.

A group of former co-workers and I met up here for dinner on a week night a couple of weeks ago and we had a really great meal. We ended up ordering the new 6 course family style meal for the group and it worked out great. Each course was 1 to 2 dishes and all were great. Everyone left very full and happy. Definitely recommend trying the 4 course or 6 course meal options if you have a group of 5 or more!

I fear that the corner of Liberty and 4th is slipping into a cursed location for whatever occupies it. Too far from Main, too far from State, whatever is here just doesn't seem to get the kind of traffic it needs to stay afloat. I am just guessing of course, but we have been here three times and all have been easy walk-ins with a pretty sparse crowd. Can't see this place surviving on this meager flow, even if it is Main Street Ventures. Location might be one fault but the look of Mezzevino is not packin em in either, that's for sure. This place has one of the most ghastly decors I have seen anywhere. Lethal gigantic cast iron pans hang above diners' heads, impending certain doom (not really, I am sure they are well secure, but humans can't help but react a certain way to enormous pieces of metal suspended by small hooks just overhead) . Hideous plates, straight from your grannie's basement, hang from the walls as if they were the most normal thing in the world. And all of this with the ugliest Teal-Brown color scheme this side of the Mississippi. All of these touches for a Mediterranean eatery make about as much sense as an Amish Family style restaurant in a nightclub. Mixing offputting, vaguely dangerous-seeming and just downright ugly and tacky is not doing any favors here; the Look of Mezzevino Really Needs to Go. How about a nice neo-classical theme? Check out Mediterraneo if you would like to see a good example of this. The food however, can stay, as it is pretty good for the most part. Greek Chicken is really well flavored and juicy. Nicely priced too for what you get. The greek-lemon potatoes with it are excellent. Haloumi appetizer is well seared with just the right saltiness. Love that relish too. The Muhamara flatbread had a very snappy, piquant taste with its pickled small vegetables and some very nice use of herbs. The falafel on a bed of spinach with preserved lemon, onions, feta and sauce had a bit too much going on and flavors became jumbled. There were a couple other things I loved there but sadly they have already been taken off the menu-one was a vegetarian strudel of sorts and the other puttanesca pasta both of which were amazing. They seem in general to have gone more carnivore-centric with entrees, which seems odd for a Mediterranean restaurant; (But maybe not for one which seems convinced it is part Cracker-Barrel???) There is not a single vegetarian pasta dish to speak of any longer. Also love how they do wine here. They have notches in the side and you just pour yourself a glass (or can have waitstaff do it) and get charged for what you use. Service is very nice. There was a bit of a delay in bringing out my Greek Chicken to which they gave us a free desert. (Moroccan Creme Caramel which is *awesome*) Overall looking forward to coming back and trying some new things. (just not in the Pans O' Doom Room)

I don't ever go to a restaurant expecting the incredible food and service that I got last night at Mezzevino. I'm honestly blown away-- every single thing I tasted was mind blowing. As a vegetarian, I find my options to be pretty limited, but they were extremely accommodating, and offered meatless options on meat plates. I ended up getting a vegetarian flatbread pizza-type thing (I wish I could remember the name!) and even my very carnivorous family were astounded by how good it was. The presentation is also worth mentioning; all the food looked beautiful as well. The pictures on the tablets looked very similar to the actual food, just gorgeous. Our server was extremely friendly as well, although we did come in near closing (sorry!!!) and she visited our table frequently. Mezzevino also has a very nice selection of hot teas, and they serve their teas with raw sugar cubes which was a lovely touch. I can't say enough good things about Mezzevino, and the prices are definitely reasonable as well. My new favourite restaurant. I'll be back very soon!!!

All of the small plates we had were excellent - really, really tasty. The artichoke was well-cooked, with the leaves easy to pull off but not too mushy. The chickpea fritters were delicious, dense (I think they may have had polenta in them?), with a tomato sauce that perhaps could have been chopped a bit finer (in the sauce were a few more or less intact canned plum tomatoes. they were delicious, but perhaps would have been well-served by a light dice). The kale salad was bright, thanks to the pickled onions, and had several crunch elements that stood up to the kale, and the sweetness of the raisins to mellow the vegetal-ness. It was dressed exactly right for my tastes - enough to season the kale completely but not so much that I got heartburn from the acid. the eggplant chips were a standout - salty, crunchy, and the yogurt sauce was awesome. unfortunately my pasta dish was a letdown after all those great things. I had the pappardelle without the meat and it was inexpertly cooked. many of the ribbons had stuck together, leaving the interiors crunchy and uncooked and the middle layers gummy. I think it could have used more sauce (although maybe I only say that because I was looking for something to mask the raw pasta flavor). the bitterness of the rapini needed something to balance it out - maybe the pork serves that function in the normal version, but in the veggie version it left the flavors a bit out of whack, at least for me. I didn't eat much of it and would have much rather have had another order of fritters instead. I had a martini, which was good (I like them "a little dirty" and they nailed it), and a glass of the Nebbiolo, which I liked. They do a cool thing with the wine where they bring you the bottle and you have as much as you want and then at the end of the meal they look at how much you had (there are hash marks on the bottle) and charge you for that. it's a great way to get patrons to accidentally drink more wine than they realize, but it also saves you the patron the trouble of flagging down the waiter for a second glass. overall, the small plates were 5 stars and the pasta was 1 star. the service was friendly and the drinks were good, so 4 stars it is.

The Italian Summer pizze, moussaka, and Greek chicken were phenomenal. Like, seriously. The eggplant chips were a little to greasy for my taste. The loukomades were to die for; the honey they used had a wonderfully sweet clover-like flavor. But that chicken though!! It was seasoned and cooked perfectly; tasted flame broiled and was incredibly tender. The cocktails were great too - I had the Evolving Eos, which had a fantastic flavor and wasn't too sweet. My friend had the Swinging Sultan and the Princess of Monaco - she said both were delicious and that the Princess was similar to a mojito. Overall, I'm incredibly impressed at the caliber of food and service for this restaurant only being open a few days! I will say it was pretty loud in there - we had to shout across the table to hear one another. Now if the servers would just work on their pronunciation of the Greek dishes... :-)

I've been twice. The first time I wasn't impressed at all. It was fine - not bad. Just not exciting. Either things have gotten better or I just ordered badly the first time. At any rate, the second time we got a series of small plates and they were quite good. I highly recommend the Halloumi, Warm Olives, and the Lamb flatbread pizza. Other food was good but those were the stand-outs.

Checked out this new restaurant a couple weeks ago. Ambience was nice and I love to try a new place, but the food was just mediocre. Me and a friend split a bunch of small plates- some were good, some not so good. Service was also mediocre. I think that they are probably just having some trouble getting started- I would be interested to go back in a few months once they have gotten their feet wet and give it a second chance. There are definitely a lot of better restaurants in Ann Arbor that I would rather frequent!

Service wasn't too bad. Our waitress was nice enough but like someone else mentioned, the extra staff were just awkward. The food itself is pretty typical for Ann Arbor. I'm usually disappointed because the concepts of the restaurants are great, they just usually fail to deliver on taste. The big thing you have to remember is that this restaurant is in Ann Arbor. It would easily flop in a city with an actual culinary scene. The timing of the delivery of our dishes was very awkward. We were a group of 6 and ordered a number of appetizers to split and a few main dishes. The waitstaff brought out the food in absolutely no order whatsoever. First out was someone's main dish (gyros). Maybe 10 minutes later another main dish (garlic chicken). After awkwardly waiting, finally some appetizers came out about 25 minutes later. After we finished our food, out came an appetizer salad. This made no sense. We also asked for hummus about 5 times, including speaking to the manager. There was never an apology, but that came out at the same time we got our check. Overall -- 1 star for ambiance and 1 star for the tablet menus. Oh, they also refused to acknowledge a birthday which goes against what their website says. Just another reason why I'd be surprised to see this place last very long.

Mezzevino is great. The atmosphere is lovely, the service outstanding, and the food excellent. It is so much fun to eat at the bar - not the beverage bar, the food bar. You can talk with the two chefs, and watch them working on creating the small plate dishes. And, periodically, they'll give you little tasting of what they're working on. Plus, they give great recommendations on what to order. The food was delicious. My husband and I made a meal of the small plates, following the server and chefs' recommendations the whole way. It was so much fun and delicious. And, the service was outstanding. Our server, Natalie, really understands the menu and did a terrific job of listening to our questions and then directing us to the right dishes. Speaking of the menu, the menus are iPads. And, when you touch the name of a dish, up pops a photo with a detailed description + recommended wine pairings. Eureka! Using technology in a restaurant to help the customer. Thank you, Mezzivino! The general manager came around to check on us during the meal and really seemed to care what we had to say. There was one dish that just wasn't working for us, and we sent it back. The kitchen manager personally came out to provide us with a freshly-prepared version. It still wasn't good and we let them know. The chefs and server were soooo apologetic. At that point, the GM came back to us (she remembered our names!) and explained to us that the dish just wasn't working that night and, because of our experience, they were taking the dish off the menu. And, she gave us a coupon for $10 off our next meal (plus, of course, removed the item from our bill). That was very impressive service. We will definitely be back.

Firstly I would like to point out that the service was mediocre. I sat by the bar near the kitchen and waiters and waitresses gathered up chatting among themselves. This was disturbing. They even teased with a waiter that was carrying a plate (I believe it was from my table) making him trip and break the plate. We ordered two appetizers and a main course to share. The timing was not right as we received one appetizer first, then the main course and later the other appetizer. The food itself was very tasty and the price reasonable.

Simply put, the best meal I've had in Ann Arbor. I can't complain about a single thing. The food, cocktails, service, dessert, coffee & ambiance all rank top 5 I've received at any restaurant. The service was especially good. Had the opportunity to try a specialty made, 6 course Valentines menu and it didn't disappoint. Decided to check this place out the other night for the first time. Nice ambiance and decor. The menu had an array of options, lot's of appetizers and small plates kind of "tapas" style. We ordered a couple of the smaller plates and then later a larger entree to share. All of the food was excellent, the greek chicken and the hummus were particularly good. Our server was very friendly and attentive and helpful explaining the menu. I thought the prices were pretty reasonable for a downtown Ann Arbor restaurant. Would definitely come back again!

This would be a hellavu place to open a restaurant. This review recounts a very weak 2-star dinner (Meh!) experience. Good space. Fresh ingredients. Mostly good recipes. Kitchen staff seems to grasp the fundamentals of cooking and plating. They grasp the concept of "reservation." The waiter was prompt, attentive, disorganized and ultimately failed us multiple times. Or; perhaps he was the victim of a kitchen expediter that was working against him. Water and menus arrived promptly. Menus are both paper and tablet. One tablet died after only a few minutes use. While the food porn is wonderful, a single tablet/application does not allow four to effortlessly peruse/discuss a menu. Our waiter acknowledged the dead tablet battery, explaining that's why the paper menus ... and that customers prefer paper menus. Unbeknownst to the couple extending the dining invitation, this is a small plates operation. Our waiter assured us that they could do a traditional dinner service. He was mistaken. My wife and I both ordered Rustic salads with entrees. My salad (excellent) and her entree were served simultaneously. ~90 seconds later, my lamb chop entree (excellent) arrived. Whoa. ~15 minutes later, my wife's salad arrived. One of our dining companions ordered the gyro platter. It arrived ~45 minutes after her salad was served - after multiple queries to the staff and multiple broken promises of "right away," "next" and "very soon." All the other plates had been bussed. The wine finished. Our companion still had not been served her entree. Room for dessert? Really? You do realize that she's still waiting on her entree??? When the gyro platter (chicken) arrived, it in no way resembled gyros. "Not what I ordered," flumoxed the waiter who could not name the dish he had just served. Imagine a mound of shredded chicken & rice served alongside small pitas that had been cut into eighths. Gyro? Platter? Really? Our companion refused the dish on the basis of not being gyros and being served so damn late. In an attempt to mitigate the matter, the senior hostess (manager?) arrived with profuse apologies and a $25 gift card for our frustrated, unfed dining companion. Nice, but it was also delivered with an incorrect check - which included yet another entree that we had not ordered and had never been served. In the past year, we have dined at Mainstreet Ventures' operations twice. They have failed, substantively, both times, in fundamentals.

The old Pretzel Bell building in its latest incarnation is a Mediterranean restaurant called Mezzevino. If you don't know how to navigate the tablet menu, they'll give you a quick demo. Not as annoyingly useless as some of the tablet menus I've seen. I had the soup called Spicy Antalya. I don't know if it's a traditional dish, but the flavor seemed very familiar. I wonder if it was made with Gauijillo chiles. There were also beans and sausage bits in this soup. Very hearty. I had asked for a cup but a large bowl arrived. So I didn't have much room left for the Greek Chicken, which was flame broiled and given a quick chop with a cleaver. Watch out for the bones. If you know chicken anatomy well, you can navigate through the pieces like a champ. Otherwise, chomp carefully until you know what your piece contains. I liked the arugula with a lemony vinaigrette that was laid on top. The baby potatoes were crispy. My water glass kept getting refilled with ice water, even though I had asked not to have ice. I just waited for it to melt and warm up a little. They are so eager to refill your glass there. If you don't want your esophagus to freeze, get a drink that doesn't have ice and guard it jealously. Lots of gluten free choices, helpfully marked on the menu.

I wasn't going to admit it, I really wasn't, BUT I am a food snob. I used to be ashamed, but I have learned to just accept me and this is who I am. That being said, I am shocked when I read that this restaurant only has a 3 star rating on Yelp because I had an amazing experience there with a party of 6, myself included. We had no idea what to do when we got there. There were iPads on the table, and slowly but surely we all realized that the delicious looking pictures we would randomly stumble upon while messing with these iPads could be food in our tummies. Now, at first we thought let's all just go our own ways and share if someone likes the look of our food. Of course, it took no time at all for the other half of the table to decide on the prix fixe menu available as a 4 & 6 course meal for 21.95 and 27.95 respectively. We went with the latter and the meal just got better and better with each course. We started with some white wine with limoncello (this pretty much won us over from the start), but we kept going. Then some herbed pita and hummus, then some veggies, then a meat and cheese platter. A huge bowl of spaghetti puttanesca appeared and just when we thought not bad, not bad. The swordfish thalassa appeared and it was tender, tasty and perfectly textured. At this point we barely had any room left, but then Lahme bi hummus (beef tips that just fell apart in your mouth surrounded by a sea of hummus) made its way into our tummies and touched our hearts. There was even dessert involved. Somehow our waitress managed to have the food brought out in such a timely manner that we never looked away from our meals. The next course was always ready as soon as we finished the one prior and it really did just get better and better with each round. This is definitely a place to go with a sizeable group of 4-6 so you can try as much on the menu as possible, it'll be well worth your dinero. If you do go this route of course, it never hurts to make a reservation either. I'm looking forward to going back soon, like very soon. My birthday is coming up and I. am. shameless.

Coming here for restaurant week was the greatest thing ever! My friend's a vegetarian, while I'm pretty much a carnivore, so I wasn't expecting to love it. But they accommodated perfectly! The hummus was delicious - I feel like the pita stayed warm forever. Tofu panisse was very flavorful. Gazpacho and pappardelle di maiale were not bad. Tartakia and loukoumades were AMAZING desserts. Add on a white sangria, and you have a perfect, vegetarian-friendly meal. I can't wait to come back and try their meat dishes. Service was on point, and their menu was very helpful - you can check out pictures and eat with your eyes before ordering! The restaurant itself also felt very cozy inside.

We dined here for the first time recently and will for sure go back next time we are in town. The decor is cozy and inviting. The wine list is impressive and has a wide range of offerings at a variety of price levels. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. We ordered a spread of small plates and each was creatively presented and delicious. I especially loved the gazpacho - but, I would be hard pressed to pick a next favorite as they were all good. Go - eat - and enjoy!!!!!

Dined at Mezzevino for the first time on a business lunch. The place was super empty, surprisingly. Service was attentive and the atmosphere was upscale, just not overly stuffy. Personally I love the small plates menu, I'm always looking to try a lot of different items when I dine out. The prices were reasonable, each plate was about $5-12. There was two for lunch and we shared 4 items, we could have made due with 3 quite honestly. Id give it a solid 3.5 stars, mainly since I didn't feel compelled to immediately go back. What we had: Hummus - a little thicker than any other hummus I have had. Good flavor & a solid staple. The pita bread was really good. Initially it comes with 3-4 pieces, but we just asked for more as there is a really good portion. Would recommend if you have a group as it was an economical, yet tasty option. Fontina cheese plate - I would pass on this. Cheese, some toast, olives & a cherry type "topping/jam". Not bad, but nothing special. Grilled radicchio salad - I really enjoyed this. The flavor was fresh and it was topped with cheese "crackers". Enough for two. Calamari - also really enjoyed this dish! Calamari was tender and well fried. Aldo came with some sautÃ©ed veggies & a lemon aioli dipping sauce. Definitely recommend the calamari & grilled radicchio. I think going here for dinner out with 3-4 people would be most ideal. If you mix it up and get some of the meat/cheese/dip type plates with the mains I think you'd have an affordable, but special meal!

A friend and I were looking for a place to sit down and chat over some snacks, but missed the happy-hour time frame. We walked by Mezzevino, which offered small plates for very reasonable prices. Great! In we go! The good: -Chevre: Amazingly creamy goat cheese served with crostini, olives, and seasonal fruit compote. I'm personally not a fan of olives, so left those for my friend, but the combination of crostini with goat cheese and compote on top was divine. =9 -Crostini with roasted eggplant: Of all the items we got, this was the best value for the price. The savory flavor and juicy texture on top of the crunchy crostini was exquisite! -Sparkling white sangria: It's white sangria with a kick! Definitely unique. I also had the red sangria, which was good, but pretty standard. -Menu & atmosphere: I love the tablet menu! It's well organized, and the pictures and wine pairing suggestions are very helpful! The ambiance in general, as the other reviewers touched on, is awesome - very chic and trendy. Totally a date place. The not as good (but not awful!): -Hummus: Too salty. It required way too much bread to hummus ratio. -Service: While I loved our waiter, the ancillary staff was a bit... awkward. For example, one guy walked over to our table and grabbed one of our unoccupied chair without acknowledging us at all -- no words, no eye contact, just grabbed and went. In general, I felt the ancillary staff with a bit too hurried. That would be fine at a Deny's or something, but for a place that's as nice as Mezzevino, I was a little taken aback. It's not a huge deal though. I'd gladly come again!

I love mezzevino- for a special occasion, happy hour of for dinner with a friend. They have 1/2 off sangria pitchers during happy hour at the bar. Their crostini trio and their mix and match cheese/meat boards are great appetizers and their lamb is the best in town. I have never had a problem getting in on a busy night without a reservation.

We were excited about this newest Main Street Venture when it first opened up but unfortunately the food wasn't good enough to bring us back. I don't know why ratings are not five-star for this place. Have been there three times and I think the food is topnotch. Went for my girlfriend's birthday just this week and everything was superb. I got the spicy lamb flatbread pizza for an appetizer and I thought the flavor combination with the tzatziki was mouth-watering. My girlfriend got the kale salad and split the artichoke with a friend. When they were out of artichoke leaves they considered licking the plate it was so good. For dinner, I had the braised beef Marrakesh and it was cooked perfectly. Every time I'm in there, the restaurant is relatively empty and I don't get it. I'm a huge Ann Arbor foodie and I'd stack their food up against anyone else in the mid- to upper-price/expectation.

One of my favorite restaurants in the city. Main Street Ventures is spot-on with everything here. The atmosphere and decor is classy but relaxed, almost reminiscent of an oceanside eatery in the Mediterranean. The service is always friendly and attentive. The food comes out really quickly. The food itself is amazing. They do tapas dining, so there are a lot of smaller portions meant to be shared family-style. Everything is fresh and has a unique spin. They even teased with a waiter that was carrying a plate (I believe it was from my table) making him trip and break the plate. We ordered two appetizers and a main course to share. Simply put, the best meal I've had in Ann Arbor. I can't complain about a single thing. The food, cocktails, service, dessert, coffee & ambiance all rank top 5 I've received at any restaurant. The service was especially good. Had the opportunity to try a specialty made, 6 course Valentines menu and it didn't disappoint. Decided to check this place out the other night for the first time. Nice ambiance and decor. The menu had an array of options, lot's of appetizers and small plates kind of "tapas" style. We ordered a couple of the smaller plates and then later a larger entree to share. All of the food was excellent, the greek chicken and the hummus were particularly good. Our server was very friendly and attentive and helpful explaining the menu. I thought the prices were pretty reasonable for a downtown Ann Arbor restaurant. Would definitely come back again!

The food was pretty good, our server/bartender was a bit pushy. My husband and I dined in for our first date night in months, and wanted a relaxing romantic googly-eyed night out with one another. The bartender wouldn't leave us be! We didn't realize that the table we were placed at was part of the bar service area. "Are we ready to get the first course in, folks? Ready to order now?" We told him we were just going to take our time, but minutes after being rushed into our first plate, he wanted to know what we were going to have for seconds. The first plate wasn't even there yet! Our romantic dinner was over in 30 minutes. My recommendation is, if you're in the mood for tapas-style food, head a few blocks up to Adventura, unless you're craving fast food, then Mezzevino is the place for you.

I met a girlfriend there yesterday for drinks and small plates. My cocktail was pretty good, though $9.95 seems pricey to me. Happy Hour pricing only applies if you sit at the bar, which I did not know until I got the check. I had the meatballs and the artichoke. The meatballs were OK. The artichoke was kind of tough, and there was way too much of the thick sauce. Service was EXCELLENT.

We were a party of 6 people and got the pre-set family style menu and were not disappointed. I really don't understand why the reviews aren't better. This is possibly the best Greek restaurant I have ever been to! The hummus was fantastic and tasted unique and unlike any other hummus I have had. The pita bread seemed homemade and was also full of flavor unlike normal pita breads. We had the snapper on the pre-set menu which was amazing and I am not even a snapper person! The dessert plate they gave us was also incredible with so many different options! A bottle of wine is really cheap there and the service was great. My only complaint is that their happy hour for drinks is only if you sit at the bar and we ordered drinks and didn't realize this and they did not honor the happy hour price. Then again, it was stated clearly on the menu and we just didn't read it. Definitely, definitely recommend! I wish there was a Greek place like this in Miami! Also, the pre-set menu is 4 courses for about $22/person and you need at least 5 people to do it. I think it is only on certain days of the week so call in advance to confirm.

Dined at Mezzevino for the first time on a business lunch. The place was super empty, surprisingly. Service was attentive and the atmosphere was upscale, just not overly stuffy. Personally I love the small plates menu, I'm always looking to try a lot of different items when I dine out. The prices were reasonable, each plate was about $5-12. There was two for lunch and we shared 4 items, we could have made due with 3 quite honestly. Id give it a solid 3.5 stars, mainly since I didn't feel compelled to immediately go back. What we had: Hummus - a little thicker than any other hummus I have had. Good flavor & a solid staple. The pita bread was really good. Initially it comes with 3-4 pieces, but we just asked for more as there is a really good portion. Would recommend if you have a group as it was an economical, yet tasty option. Fontina cheese plate - I would pass on this. Cheese, some toast, olives & a cherry type "topping/jam". Not bad, but nothing special. Grilled radicchio salad - I really enjoyed this. The flavor was fresh and it was topped with cheese "crackers". Enough for two. Calamari - also really enjoyed this dish! Calamari was tender and well fried. Aldo came with some sautÃ©ed veggies & a lemon aioli dipping sauce. Definitely recommend the calamari & grilled radicchio. I think going here for dinner out with 3-4 people would be most ideal. If you mix it up and get some of the meat/cheese/dip type plates with the mains I think you'd have an affordable, but special meal!

This would be a hellavu place to open a restaurant. This review recounts a very weak 2-star dinner (Meh!) experience. Good space. Fresh ingredients. Mostly good recipes. Kitchen staff seems to grasp the fundamentals of cooking and plating. They grasp the concept of "reservation." The waiter was prompt, attentive, disorganized and ultimately failed us multiple times. Or; perhaps he was the victim of a kitchen expediter that was working against him. Water and menus arrived promptly. Menus are both paper and tablet. One tablet died after only a few minutes use. While the food porn is wonderful, a single tablet/application does not allow four to effortlessly peruse/discuss a menu. Our waiter acknowledged the dead tablet battery, explaining that's why the paper menus ... and that customers prefer paper menus. Unbeknownst to the couple extending the dining invitation, this is a small plates operation. Our waiter assured us that they could do a traditional dinner service. He was mistaken. My wife and I both ordered Rustic salads with entrees. My salad (excellent) and her entree were served simultaneously. ~90 seconds later, my lamb chop entree (excellent) arrived. Whoa. ~15 minutes later, my wife's salad arrived. One of our dining companions ordered the gyro platter. It arrived ~45 minutes after her salad was served - after multiple queries to the staff and multiple broken promises of "right away," "next" and "very soon." All the other plates had been bussed. The wine finished. Our companion still had not been served her entree. Room for dessert? Really? You do realize that she's still waiting on her entree??? When the gyro platter (chicken) arrived, it in no way resembled gyros. "Not what I ordered," flumoxed the waiter who could not name the dish he had just served. Imagine a mound of shredded chicken & rice served alongside small pitas that had been cut into eighths. Gyro? Platter? Really? Our companion refused the dish on the basis of not being gyros and being served so damn late. In an attempt to mitigate the matter, the senior hostess (manager?) arrived with profuse apologies and a $25 gift card for our frustrated, unfed dining companion. Nice, but it was also delivered with an incorrect check - which included yet another entree that we had not ordered and had never been served. In the past year, we have dined at Mainstreet Ventures' operations twice. They have failed, substantively, both times, in fundamentals.

The old Pretzel Bell building in its latest incarnation is a Mediterranean restaurant called Mezzevino. If you don't know how to navigate the tablet menu, they'll give you a quick demo. Not as annoyingly useless as some of the tablet menus I've seen. I had the soup called Spicy Antalya. I don't know if it's a traditional dish, but the flavor seemed very familiar. I wonder if it was made with Gauijillo chiles. There were also beans and sausage bits in this soup. Very hearty. I had asked for a cup but a large bowl arrived. So I didn't have much room left for the Greek Chicken, which was flame broiled and given a quick chop with a cleaver. Watch out for the bones. If you know chicken anatomy well, you can navigate through the pieces like a champ. Otherwise, chomp carefully until you know what your piece contains. I liked the arugula with a lemony vinaigrette that was laid on top. The baby potatoes were crispy. My water glass kept getting refilled with ice water, even though I had asked not to have ice. I just waited for it to melt and warm up a little. They are so eager to refill your glass there. If you don't want your esophagus to freeze, get a drink that doesn't have ice and guard it jealously. Lots of gluten free choices, helpfully marked on the menu.

I wasn't going to admit it, I really wasn't, BUT I am a food snob. I used to be ashamed, but I have learned to just accept me and this is who I am. That being said, I am shocked when I read that this restaurant only has a 3 star rating on Yelp because I had an amazing experience there with a party of 6, myself included. We had no idea what to do when we got there. There were iPads on the table, and slowly but surely we all realized that the delicious looking pictures we would randomly stumble upon while messing with these iPads could be food in our tummies. Now, at first we thought let's all just go our own ways and share if someone likes the look of our food. Of course, it took no time at all for the other half of the table to decide on the prix fixe menu available as a 4 & 6 course meal for 21.95 and 27.95 respectively. We went with the latter and the meal just got better and better with each course. We started with some white wine with limoncello (this pretty much won us over from the start), but we kept going. Then some herbed pita and hummus, then some veggies, then a meat and cheese platter. A huge bowl of spaghetti puttanesca appeared and just when we thought not bad, not bad. The swordfish thalassa appeared and it was tender, tasty and perfectly textured. At this point we barely had any room left, but then Lahme bi hummus (beef tips that just fell apart in your mouth surrounded by a sea of hummus) made its way into our tummies and touched our hearts. There was even dessert involved. Somehow our waitress managed to have the food brought out in such a timely manner that we never looked away from our meals. The next course was always ready as soon as we finished the one prior and it really did just get better and better with each round. This is definitely a place to go with a sizeable group of 4-6 so you can try as much on the menu as possible, it'll be well worth your dinero. If you do go this route of course, it never hurts to make a reservation either. I'm looking forward to going back soon, like very soon. My birthday is coming up and I. am. shameless.

Coming here for restaurant week was the greatest thing ever! My friend's a vegetarian, while I'm pretty much a carnivore, so I wasn't expecting to love it. But they accommodated perfectly! The hummus was delicious - I feel like the pita stayed warm forever. Tofu panisse was very flavorful. Gazpacho and pappardelle di maiale were not bad. Tartakia and loukoumades were AMAZING desserts. Add on a white sangria, and you have a perfect, vegetarian-friendly meal. I can't wait to come back and try their meat dishes. Service was on point, and their menu was very helpful - you can check out pictures and eat with your eyes before ordering! The restaurant itself also felt very cozy inside.

We dined here for the first time recently and will for sure go back next time we are in town. The decor is cozy and inviting. The wine list is impressive and has a wide range of offerings at a variety of price levels. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. We ordered a spread of small plates and each was creatively presented and delicious. I especially loved the gazpacho - but, I would be hard pressed to pick a next favorite as they were all good. A friend and I were looking for a place to sit down and chat over some snacks, but missed the happy-hour time frame. We walked by Mezzevino, which offered small plates for very reasonable prices. Great! In we go! The good: -Chevre: Amazingly creamy goat cheese served with crostini, olives, and seasonal fruit compote. I'm personally not a fan of olives, so left those for my friend, but the combination of crostini with goat cheese and compote on top was divine. =9 -Crostini with roasted eggplant: Of all the items we got, this was the best value for the price. The savory flavor and juicy texture on top of the crunchy crostini was exquisite! -Sparkling white sangria: It's white sangria with a kick! Definitely unique. I also had the red sangria, which was good, but pretty standard. -Menu & atmosphere: I love the tablet menu! It's well organized, and the pictures and wine pairing suggestions are very helpful! The ambiance in general, as the other reviewers touched on, is awesome - very chic and trendy. Totally a date place. The not as good (but not awful!): -Hummus: Too salty. It required way too much bread to hummus ratio. -Service: While I loved our waiter, the ancillary staff was a bit... awkward. For example, one guy walked over to our table and grabbed one of our unoccupied chair without acknowledging us at all -- no words, no eye contact, just grabbed and went. In general, I felt the ancillary staff with a bit too hurried. That would be fine at a Deny's or something, but for a place that's as nice as Mezzevino, I was a little taken aback. It's not a huge deal though. I'd gladly come again!

The first thing you'll notice here is the beautiful, classy atmosphere. It feels like a nice dinner out, but not so fancy that you'll wish you dressed up more. All of the small plates I tried were great! One of the stand-outs was lamb topped with bechamel sauce in a cast iron skillet. This dish had just a hint of cinnamon that went perfectly with the lamb and cheese. I also enjoyed the chevre and chorizo. My favorite part of the meal was dessert! My boyfriend and I tried a caramel mousse and tart. Both were fantastic, and small enough that we were not stuffed. The wine selection is good, and they bring out the whole bottle so you can refill as you please.

This review is based on 5 separate dining experiences here. The common theme with this establishment: inconsistency. My first time was their opening night. The server was very nervous as we were her first table. ever. We ordered a bottle of wine and she brought out wine by the glass. We had to order again. Of a few dishes we ordered, the we loved Braised lamb with couscous, Orrechiette, and lebanese lamb flatbread pizza. Although we loved the flavor of all three dishes, none of them were hot. Or warm, even. We really had issues with temperatures. We sat near the kitchen and they kept burning flatbread in the oven and the area would fill with smoke. This happened over and over again and when we got home, our clothes smelled like burnt bread. The second time, the hostess sat us. Within seconds, a server came to ask us what we wanted to drink. We asked for a few minutes to look over the wine menu. 20 minutes went by and the server never came back. We left. The third-fifth times, we stuck to a few dishes that we have tried and liked, but the consistency of the food always varied (temperature, flavor, etc). Service was also inconsistent- we really enjoyed our third time with a bartender as our server. The other times, we had a difficult time ordering wine. Server not knowing the name of the wine we were ordering (and asking us to point out the picture on the tablet), not refilling water glasses, having to wait for the server to come back to check on us so we can order another round of dishes, etc. It's a good restaurant to get together with friends and share dishes. Although, not a place where you can count on good service and good food every time.

I have only been once, but I really enjoyed it. A girl friend and I got two dishes and shared them both, and they were both good (orrechiette and something I forgot!) and the ambience and wine were enjoyable. We were seated at the tall tables near the bar, and I enjoyed it there. I am not a huge fan of tablets as menus... after looking at a computer, iPad, or iPhone most of the day, I am not sure who wants to see more bright lights on their menu at dinner? I feel that it impeded conversation a bit since we were both clicking around, looking at pictures, etc. I am old fashioned, I guess. Just give me a paper menu and I am good! Other than that, I really enjoyed my experience here. It is a huge restaurant and would be good for groups.

Return visit: After reading so many recent reviews I was hesitant yet curious to try things for myself. On my previous visits and review the food and service both were great. From the time you order to the time you get your food can take a little while and dishes do not come out all together. But this is how they wanted it to be because of the small plates. The artichoke, which has had issues with doneness my last visit, I was happy to see was cooked properly now. Service was wonderful as well. I wasn't sure which wine I wanted as they have so many and my server kindly let me try a small sample of the ones i was deciding between to be sure. I did notice that they have made adjustments since there opening. Happy Hour is different and they now offer a late night Happy Hour which I was pleased to take part in. They are now also offering a tasting menu where you can decide between having 4 or 6 courses available when five or more people order it which seemed appealing. I am not sure why there have been so many negative comments lately as we really enjoyed everything and look forward to returning. There are still so many dishes that I would like to try however every time I come I end up craving the same ones.

I fear that the corner of Liberty and 4th is slipping into a cursed location for whatever occupies it. Too far from Main, too far from State, whatever is here just doesn't seem to get the kind of traffic it needs to stay afloat. I am just guessing of course, but we have been here three times and all have been easy walk-ins with a pretty sparse crowd. Can't see this place surviving on this meager flow, even if it is Main Street Ventures. Location might be one fault but the look of Mezzevino is not packin em in either, that's for sure. This place has one of the most ghastly decors I have seen anywhere. Lethal gigantic cast iron pans hang above diners' heads, impending certain doom (not really, I am sure they are well secure, but humans can't help but react a certain way to enormous pieces of metal suspended by small hooks just overhead) . Hideous plates, straight from your grannie's basement, hang from the walls as if they were the most normal thing in the world. And all of this with the ugliest Teal-Brown color scheme this side of the Mississippi. All of these touches for a Mediterranean eatery make about as much sense as an Amish Family style restaurant in a nightclub. Mixing offputting, vaguely dangerous-seeming and just downright ugly and tacky is not doing any favors here; the Look of Mezzevino Really Needs to Go. How about a nice neo-classical theme? Check out Mediterraneo if you would like to see a good example of this. The food however, can stay, as it is pretty good for the most part. Greek Chicken is really well flavored and juicy. Nicely priced too for what you get. The greek-lemon potatoes with it are excellent. Haloumi appetizer is well seared with just the right saltiness. Love that relish too. The Muhamara flatbread had a very snappy, piquant taste with its pickled small vegetables and some very nice use of herbs. The falafel on a bed of spinach with preserved lemon, onions, feta and sauce had a bit too much going on and flavors became jumbled. There were a couple other things I loved there but sadly they have already been taken off the menu-one was a vegetarian strudel of sorts and the other puttanesca pasta both of which were amazing. They seem in general to have gone more carnivore-centric with entrees, which seems odd for a Mediterranean restaurant; (But maybe not for one which seems convinced it is part Cracker-Barrel???) There is not a single vegetarian pasta dish to speak of any longer. Also love how they do wine here. They have notches in the side and you just pour yourself a glass (or can have waitstaff do it) and get charged for what you use. Service is very nice. There was a bit of a delay in bringing out my Greek Chicken to which they gave us a free desert. (Moroccan Creme Caramel which is *awesome*) Overall looking forward to coming back and trying some new things. (just not in the Pans O' Doom Room)

I don't ever go to a restaurant expecting the incredible food and service that I got last night at Mezzevino. I'm honestly blown away-- every single thing I tasted was mind blowing. As a vegetarian, I find my options to be pretty limited, but they were extremely accommodating, and offered meatless options on meat plates. I ended up getting a vegetarian flatbread pizza-type thing (I wish I could remember the name!) and even my very carnivorous family were astounded by how good it was. The presentation is also worth mentioning; all the food looked beautiful as well. The pictures on the tablets looked very similar to the actual food, just gorgeous. Our server was extremely friendly as well, although we did come in near closing (sorry!!!) and she visited our table frequently. Mezzevino also has a very nice selection of hot teas, and they serve their teas with raw sugar cubes which was a lovely touch. I can't say enough good things about Mezzevino, and the prices are definitely reasonable as well. My new favourite restaurant. I'll be back very soon!!!

All of the small plates we had were excellent - really, really tasty. The artichoke was well-cooked, with the leaves easy to pull off but not too mushy. The chickpea fritters were delicious, dense (I think they may have had polenta in them?), with a tomato sauce that perhaps could have been chopped a bit finer (in the sauce were a few more or less intact canned plum tomatoes. they were delicious, but perhaps would have been well-served by a light dice). The kale salad was bright, thanks to the pickled onions, and had several crunch elements that stood up to the kale, and the sweetness of the raisins to mellow the vegetal-ness. It was dressed exactly right for my tastes - enough to season the kale completely but not so much that I got heartburn from the acid. the eggplant chips were a standout - salty, crunchy, and the yogurt sauce was awesome. unfortunately my pasta dish was a letdown after all those great things. I had the pappardelle without the meat and it was inexpertly cooked. many of the ribbons had stuck together, leaving the interiors crunchy and uncooked and the middle layers gummy. I think it could have used more sauce (although maybe I only say that because I was looking for something to mask the raw pasta flavor). the bitterness of the rapini needed something to balance it out - maybe the pork serves that function in the normal version, but in the veggie version it left the flavors a bit out of whack, at least for me. I didn't eat much of it and would have much rather have had another order of fritters instead. I had a martini, which was good (I like them "a little dirty" and they nailed it), and a glass of the Nebbiolo, which I liked. They do a cool thing with the wine where they bring you the bottle and you have as much as you want and then at the end of the meal they look at how much you had (there are hash marks on the bottle) and charge you for that. it's a great way to get patrons to accidentally drink more wine than they realize, but it also saves you the patron the trouble of flagging down the waiter for a second glass. overall, the small plates were 5 stars and the pasta was 1 star. the service was friendly and the drinks were good, so 4 stars it is.

The Italian Summer pizze, moussaka, and Greek chicken were phenomenal. Like, seriously. The eggplant chips were a little to greasy for my taste. The loukomades were to die for; the honey they used had a wonderfully sweet clover-like flavor. But that chicken though!! It was seasoned and cooked perfectly; tasted flame broiled and was incredibly tender. The cocktails were great too - I had the Evolving Eos, which had a fantastic flavor and wasn't too sweet. My friend had the Swinging Sultan and the Princess of Monaco - she said both were delicious and that the Princess was similar to a mojito. Overall, I'm incredibly impressed at the caliber of food and service for this restaurant only being open a few days! I will say it was pretty loud in there - we had to shout across the table to hear one another. Now if the servers would just work on their pronunciation of the Greek dishes... :-)

The ambience is really nice and I like the exposed kitchen and lamb spits..nice authentic touch. I came here on opening night, so they may have just been working their kinks out. We ordered three dishes between the two of us to share. The lamb and couscous appetizer, which was delicious but just slightly warm and definitely could have been better if it was warmer. We also ordered the orechiette pasta, which was also lukewarm and the pasta was over cooked/too soft. Other than that the pasta dish was very well flavored and a large portion. In full disclosure I haven't eaten yet. But thought it was worth issuing a warning that happy hour prices do not apply anyplace but the bar (patio, rest of restaurant). Even when you specifically ask about happy hour specials, they will seat you outside without mentioning this fact. They did it to us and another table at the same time - both of our parties left after that, because seriously? Happy hour prices are happy hour prices. If they aren't, you should call them bar specials. Other places in town do not make this distinction that seating determines price.

I hate to give this place only two stars because the service was AMAZING. But....it just left me wanting more. I had to actually send back a plate because it was so blah (chicken and chickpeas). I ordered the shrimp, fried cheese, cheese platter with prosciutto, some bread with an egg on it and the couscous. The couscous was good but I feel like the food just lacks flavor. I will say though that their service is impeccable. I will try again because I want to love it but just don't right now

Well, you'll definitely be engaged in some nice conversations, because the decor is not much to look at. As per usual, Mainstreet Ventures has outfitted this establishment with tablet menus (the power button is on the top of the right side for all you iPad users, and you can tone down the brightness by clicking the time in the bottom right and then the settings). I love having these menus, just tap on any dish and a picture pops up along with a little description. We ordered the hummus, calamari, meatballs, italian summer flatbread, and lahme (which is braised beef tips, before anyone gets confused). The hummus, calamari, and flatbread were really good. For some reason though, our lahme came with a different hummus (or so it tasted) that I did not like at all. The meatballs were just ok. Part of the poor rating was the service. [Skip this paragraph if you do not care about minor details regarding attentiveness in your dining experience] People were very attentive when we walked in (one person telling a hostess would be right- oh, there she is, then the hostess went to check on the table, then three other people informing us a hostess would be there to greet us shortly), but our waiter was not very good. He was pretty unhelpful at suggesting dishes, even though he began his spiel recommending that we order multiple little plates to share between us. We were constantly asking for water (they should consider the carafe on the table that many other restaurants have adopted) and he left the wine glasses on the table (and a marked bottle to encourage you to drink more, despite how cumbersome it may be on the table) which made fitting everything on the table a game of Tetris. What made this worse was that he assured us that the kitchen wasn't busy so we could get starters and decide on the main courses later, but then he never bothered to finish our orders until after we polished off the appetizers, further cluttering up the table with those menus. Of course, it was only after this that he mentioned the chicken our friends ordered would take 15 minutes to prepare, and actually by the time their food came out we had finished eating our lahme. None of this actually aggravated personally, just things that I noted about the level of employee training that might annoy others based on the price and the caliber of service you would expect. EDIT: I would like to add on this review that a representative from Mezzevino promptly contacted me to listen to my concerns and address them with the staff. I am looking forward to returning and seeing if the quality of service now matches the food.

A group of former co-workers and I met up here for dinner on a week night a couple of weeks ago and we had a really great meal. We ended up ordering the new 6 course family style meal for the group and it worked out great. Each course was 1 to 2 dishes and all were great. Everyone left very full and happy. Definitely recommend trying the 4 course or 6 course meal options if you have a group of 5 or more!

My husband, two friends of ours and myself went to Mezzevino on 1/23/15. We were celebrating my 30th birthday and it was also restaurant week. Our waitress ( whose name I unfortuantely cannot remember!) was simply amazing. She explained everything on the resturant week menu, helped us make decisions and also suggested her favorites. One of the people in our party has a serious food allergy so we made her sure of that right off the bat.. She was extremely accomodating and understanding. We had the hummus with pita, summer pizza and the calamari to begin with. The hummus with the fried chickpeas on top was fabulous. It was surrounded by a touch of chili flake oil which gave it some flavor, but didn't overpower it. The sauce to the calamari was fabulous and the pizza was gone in about 2 minutes. It was just so fresh and had such bright flavors. Finally, we also had the rustic greek salad. Instead of lettuce, the salad was made up of chunks of cucumber, tomato, kalamata olives, red onion and feta. Divine. The orreccheti pasta with lamb sausage is the stuff dreams are made of. It was simply out of this world. My super picky husband loved it and went back for more, even thought it didn't last very long. The beef tips and the chicken gyro platter were also amazing. I had never had beef with hummus but it was simply devine. Finally, the dessets were ingenious. Donuts with a honey lavendar sauce= YUM. We also had something that resembled baklava, but different. The wipped cream was homemade and super light and fluffy. It was simply an amazing dinner from start to finish. The dinner took us about 2.5 hrs to eat. All plates were sent out in a timely fashion but we didn't feel rushed or overwhelmed. It was an amazing meal and was only $28/ couple! We can't wait to go back soon. It was the perfect 30th birthday dinner :)

Given the other reviews of Mezzevino, I was hesitant to give the place a try, especially given its price. Needless to say, though, I was pleasantly surprised. Almost every dish we tried was pretty good. I would say the starter bread was a bit of a let down for me. The concept of the rosemary infused bread was good, but I felt the accompanying butter really didn't help bring out the flavor. Our first dish was the hummus. I had heard mixed reviews from the other Yelpers, but I would say that it was a pretty well done hummus dish. It was a bit on the thicker side, but also had a nice spice level. The pita bread seemed like your average store-bought kind, but still was nice and soft. We also had an eggplant crustini-like appetizer, with a poached egg on top. This had some excellent flavors and was very good. For more of the entree type dishes, we had the lamb flatbread and the Greek chicken entree. Both of these dishes were excellent. The lamb and goat cheese flatbread was cooked perfectly, and expertly seasoned. With the yogurt sauce, it almost got a bit soggy at times, but for the most part retained its crunch and depth of flavors. The chicken entree was also very good. The chicken fell of the bone, and the potatoes that accompanied it were okay. For dessert, we had the Loukoumades. These were like fried dough balls with a sweet honey sauce on top. They were also pretty good, essentially like a mini doughnut in a honey dip. Overall, I was happy with the dinner choice and will definitely come back again.

Went to a pre-opening dinner for a special event. Nice place, with trendy bare brick walls, wood floors, few glass panels, and pale green accents. Not all dishes were available (due to various circumstances with opening week), but what we did order was good. Dishes I would highly recommend (these were more eloquently named on their iPad based menus): Cucumber gazpacho (excellent!) Marinaded chicken over garbanzo beans Beef served over hummus - perfectly cooked and tender, but very salty Service was great, although it was a dress rehearsal for the staff and so each table had their own. I wouldn't give 5 stars for two reasons: First, many things were extremely salty (and I'm not usually one to complain about salt) - the sauce on the beef for one, as was the hummus. And the bouillabaisse was all but inedible. Secondly, it was crazy loud. I couldn't hear the person across from me, let alone the server describing specials. They need some more... something... to absorb the noise. I considered 3 stars, but given the promise of the dishes once a few opening night jitters are worked out, decided to give the benefit of the doubt. We'll be back!

This place has really gone downhill. The plate presentations are sloppy, the "flavors" are lackluster, and the service is hit or miss. If I wanted to pay this much for this quality of product I could have went to a much nicer establishment. Hell, I can get a better gyro at Ahmos. I expected more from a Main Street concept.

Not really worth the hype. I was really surprised by the food and service at Mezzevino and not in a good way. I usually love all of Main Street Ventures' restaurants, but this one fell flat. The food was just okay and our service was, well, just bad. Not what I would expect from a Main Street Venture Establishment. The decor and ambiance were really nice though. I hope they improve as they're open longer.

Mezzevino is great. The atmosphere is lovely, the service outstanding, and the food excellent. It is so much fun to eat at the bar - not the beverage bar, the food bar. You can talk with the two chefs, and watch them working on creating the small plate dishes. And, periodically, they'll give you little tasting of what they're working on. Plus, they give great recommendations on what to order. The food was delicious. My husband and I made a meal of the small plates, following the server and chefs' recommendations the whole way. It was so much fun and delicious. And, the service was outstanding. Our server, Natalie, really understands the menu and did a terrific job of listening to our questions and then directing us to the right dishes. Speaking of the menu, the menus are iPads. And, when you touch the name of a dish, up pops a photo with a detailed description + recommended wine pairings. Eureka! Using technology in a restaurant to help the customer. Thank you, Mezzivino! The general manager came around to check on us during the meal and really seemed to care what we had to say. There was one dish that just wasn't working for us, and we sent it back. The kitchen manager personally came out to provide us with a freshly-prepared version. It still wasn't good and we let them know. The chefs and server were soooo apologetic. At that point, the GM came back to us (she remembered our names!) and explained to us that the dish just wasn't working that night and, because of our experience, they were taking the dish off the menu. And, she gave us a coupon for $10 off our next meal (plus, of course, removed the item from our bill). That was very impressive service. We will definitely be back.

This would be a hellavu place to open a restaurant. This review recounts a very weak 2-star dinner (Meh!) experience. Good space. Fresh ingredients. Mostly good recipes. Kitchen staff seems to grasp the fundamentals of cooking and plating. They grasp the concept of "reservation." The waiter was prompt, attentive, disorganized and ultimately failed us multiple times. Or; perhaps he was the victim of a kitchen expediter that was working against him. Water and menus arrived promptly. Menus are both paper and tablet. One tablet died after only a few minutes use. While the food porn is wonderful, a single tablet/application does not allow four to effortlessly peruse/discuss a menu. Our waiter acknowledged the dead tablet battery, explaining that's why the paper menus ... and that customers prefer paper menus. Unbeknownst to the couple extending the dining invitation, this is a small plates operation. Our waiter assured us that they could do a traditional dinner service. He was mistaken. My wife and I both ordered Rustic salads with entrees. My salad (excellent) and her entree were served simultaneously. ~90 seconds later, my lamb chop entree (excellent) arrived. Whoa. ~15 minutes later, my wife's salad arrived. One of our dining companions ordered the gyro platter. It arrived ~45 minutes after her salad was served - after multiple queries to the staff and multiple broken promises of "right away," "next" and "very soon." All the other plates had been bussed. The wine finished. Our companion still had not been served her entree. Room for dessert? Really? You do realize that she's still waiting on her entree??? When the gyro platter (chicken) arrived, it in no way resembled gyros. "Not what I ordered," flumoxed the waiter who could not name the dish he had just served. Imagine a mound of shredded chicken & rice served alongside small pitas that had been cut into eighths. Gyro? Platter? Really? Our companion refused the dish on the basis of not being gyros and being served so damn late. In an attempt to mitigate the matter, the senior hostess (manager?) arrived with profuse apologies and a $25 gift card for our frustrated, unfed dining companion. Nice, but it was also delivered with an incorrect check - which included yet another entree that we had not ordered and had never been served. In the past year, we have dined at Mainstreet Ventures' operations twice. They have failed, substantively, both times, in fundamentals.

The old Pretzel Bell building in its latest incarnation is a Mediterranean restaurant called Mezzevino. If you don't know how to navigate the tablet menu, they'll give you a quick demo. Not as annoyingly useless as some of the tablet menus I've seen. I had the soup called Spicy Antalya. I don't know if it's a traditional dish, but the flavor seemed very familiar. I wonder if it was made with Gauijillo chiles. There were also beans and sausage bits in this soup. Very hearty. I had asked for a cup but a large bowl arrived. So I didn't have much room left for the Greek Chicken, which was flame broiled and given a quick chop with a cleaver. Watch out for the bones. If you know chicken anatomy well, you can navigate through the pieces like a champ. Otherwise, chomp carefully until you know what your piece contains. I liked the arugula with a lemony vinaigrette that was laid on top. The baby potatoes were crispy. My water glass kept getting refilled with ice water, even though I had asked not to have ice. I just waited for it to melt and warm up a little. They are so eager to refill your glass there. If you don't want your esophagus to freeze, get a drink that doesn't have ice and guard it jealously. Lots of gluten free choices, helpfully marked on the menu.

I wasn't going to admit it, I really wasn't, BUT I am a food snob. I used to be ashamed, but I have learned to just accept me and this is who I am. That being said, I am shocked when I read that this restaurant only has a 3 star rating on Yelp because I had an amazing experience there with a party of 6, myself included. We had no idea what to do when we got there. There were iPads on the table, and slowly but surely we all realized that the delicious looking pictures we would randomly stumble upon while messing with these iPads could be food in our tummies. Now, at first we thought let's all just go our own ways and share if someone likes the look of our food. Of course, it took no time at all for the other half of the table to decide on the prix fixe menu available as a 4 & 6 course meal for 21.95 and 27.95 respectively. We went with the latter and the meal just got better and better with each course. We started with some white wine with limoncello (this pretty much won us over from the start), but we kept going. Then some herbed pita and hummus, then some veggies, then a meat and cheese platter. A huge bowl of spaghetti puttanesca appeared and just when we thought not bad, not bad. The swordfish thalassa appeared and it was tender, tasty and perfectly textured. At this point we barely had any room left, but then Lahme bi hummus (beef tips that just fell apart in your mouth surrounded by a sea of hummus) made its way into our tummies and touched our hearts. There was even dessert involved. Somehow our waitress managed to have the food brought out in such a timely manner that we never looked away from our meals. The next course was always ready as soon as we finished the one prior and it really did just get better and better with each round. This is definitely a place to go with a sizeable group of 4-6 so you can try as much on the menu as possible, it'll be well worth your dinero. If you do go this route of course, it never hurts to make a reservation either. I'm looking forward to going back soon, like very soon. My birthday is coming up and I. am. shameless.

I don't know why ratings are not five-star for this place. Have been there three times and I think the food is topnotch. Went for my girlfriend's birthday just this week and everything was superb. I got the spicy lamb flatbread pizza for an appetizer and I thought the flavor combination with the tzatziki was mouth-watering. My girlfriend got the kale salad and split the artichoke with a friend. When they were out of artichoke leaves they considered licking the plate it was so good. For dinner, I had the braised beef Marrakesh and it was cooked perfectly. Every time I'm in there, the restaurant is relatively empty and I don't get it. I'm a huge Ann Arbor foodie and I'd stack their food up against anyone else in the mid- to upper-price/expectation.

Coming here for restaurant week was the greatest thing ever! My friend's a vegetarian, while I'm pretty much a carnivore, so I wasn't expecting to love it. But they accommodated perfectly! The hummus was delicious - I feel like the pita stayed warm forever. Tofu panisse was very flavorful. Gazpacho and pappardelle di maiale were not bad. Tartakia and loukoumades were AMAZING desserts. Add on a white sangria, and you have a perfect, vegetarian-friendly meal. I can't wait to come back and try their meat dishes. Service was on point, and their menu was very helpful - you can check out pictures and eat with your eyes before ordering! The restaurant itself also felt very cozy inside.

We dined here for the first time recently and will for sure go back next time we are in town. The decor is cozy and inviting. The wine list is impressive and has a wide range of offerings at a variety of price levels. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. We ordered a spread of small plates and each was creatively presented and delicious. I especially loved the gazpacho - but, I would be hard pressed to pick a next favorite as they were all good. Go - eat - and enjoy!!!!!

Dined at Mezzevino for the first time on a business lunch. The place was super empty, surprisingly. Service was attentive and the atmosphere was upscale, just not overly stuffy. Personally I love the small plates menu, I'm always looking to try a lot of different items when I dine out. The prices were reasonable, each plate was about $5-12. There was two for lunch and we shared 4 items, we could have made due with 3 quite honestly. Id give it a solid 3.5 stars, mainly since I didn't feel compelled to immediately go back. What we had: Hummus - a little thicker than any other hummus I have had. Good flavor & a solid staple. The pita bread was really good. Initially it comes with 3-4 pieces, but we just asked for more as there is a really good portion. Would recommend if you have a group as it was an economical, yet tasty option. Fontina cheese plate - I would pass on this. Cheese, some toast, olives & a cherry type "topping/jam". Not bad, but nothing special. Grilled radicchio salad - I really enjoyed this. The flavor was fresh and it was topped with cheese "crackers". Enough for two. Calamari - also really enjoyed this dish! Calamari was tender and well fried. Aldo came with some sautÃ©ed veggies & a lemon aioli dipping sauce. Definitely recommend the calamari & grilled radicchio. I think going here for dinner out with 3-4 people would be most ideal. If you mix it up and get some of the meat/cheese/dip type plates with the mains I think you'd have an affordable, but special meal!

A friend and I were looking for a place to sit down and chat over some snacks, but missed the happy-hour time frame. We walked by Mezzevino, which offered small plates for very reasonable prices. Great! In we go! The good: -Chevre: Amazingly creamy goat cheese served with crostini, olives, and seasonal fruit compote. I'm personally not a fan of olives, so left those for my friend, but the combination of crostini with goat cheese and compote on top was divine. =9 -Crostini with roasted eggplant: Of all the items we got, this was the best value for the price. The savory flavor and juicy texture on top of the crunchy crostini was exquisite! -Sparkling white sangria: It's white sangria with a kick! Definitely unique. I also had the red sangria, which was good, but pretty standard. -Menu & atmosphere: I love the tablet menu! It's well organized, and the pictures and wine pairing suggestions are very helpful! The ambiance in general, as the other reviewers touched on, is awesome - very chic and trendy. Totally a date place. The not as good (but not awful!): -Hummus: Too salty. It required way too much bread to hummus ratio. -Service: While I loved our waiter, the ancillary staff was a bit... awkward. For example, one guy walked over to our table and grabbed one of our unoccupied chair without acknowledging us at all -- no words, no eye contact, just grabbed and went. In general, I felt the ancillary staff with a bit too hurried. That would be fine at a Deny's or something, but for a place that's as nice as Mezzevino, I was a little taken aback. It's not a huge deal though. I'd gladly come again!

Prices were a little more than I would normally like to pay for a cocktail, but the food was fairly priced. Service was rather speedy for a relatively busy Ann Arbor night. I will defiantly keep it in mind for another downtown dinner.

One of my favorite restaurants in the city. Main Street Ventures is spot-on with everything here. The atmosphere and decor is classy but relaxed, almost reminiscent of an oceanside eatery in the Mediterranean. The service is always friendly and attentive. The food comes out really quickly. The food itself is amazing. They do tapas dining, so there are a lot of smaller portions meant to be shared family-style. Everything is fresh and has a unique spin. My favorites are hummus (of course), the falafel salad, rustic greek salad, calamari, and the eggplant crostini. As far as drinks, I always go with sangria or the "evolving eos."

The first thing you'll notice here is the beautiful, classy atmosphere. It feels like a nice dinner out, but not so fancy that you'll wish you dressed up more. All of the small plates I tried were great! One of the stand-outs was lamb topped with bechamel sauce in a cast iron skillet. This dish had just a hint of cinnamon that went perfectly with the lamb and cheese. I also enjoyed the chevre and chorizo. My favorite part of the meal was dessert! My boyfriend and I tried a caramel mousse and tart. Both were fantastic, and small enough that we were not stuffed. The wine selection is good, and they bring out the whole bottle so you can refill as you please.

I've been twice. The first time I wasn't impressed at all. It was fine - not bad. Just not exciting. Either things have gotten better or I just ordered badly the first time. At any rate, the second time we got a series of small plates and they were quite good. I highly recommend the Halloumi, Warm Olives, and the Lamb flatbread pizza. Other food was good but those were the stand-outs.

Checked out this new restaurant a couple weeks ago. Ambience was nice and I love to try a new place, but the food was just mediocre. Me and a friend split a bunch of small plates- some were good, some not so good. Service was also mediocre. I think that they are probably just having some trouble getting started- I would be interested to go back in a few months once they have gotten their feet wet and give it a second chance. There are definitely a lot of better restaurants in Ann Arbor that I would rather frequent!

This review is based on 5 separate dining experiences here. The common theme with this establishment: inconsistency. My first time was their opening night. The server was very nervous as we were her first table. ever. We ordered a bottle of wine and she brought out wine by the glass. We had to order again. Of a few dishes we ordered, the we loved Braised lamb with couscous, Orrechiette, and lebanese lamb flatbread pizza. Although we loved the flavor of all three dishes, none of them were hot. Or warm, even. We really had issues with temperatures. We sat near the kitchen and they kept burning flatbread in the oven and the area would fill with smoke. This happened over and over again and when we got home, our clothes smelled like burnt bread. The second time, the hostess sat us. Within seconds, a server came to ask us what we wanted to drink. We asked for a few minutes to look over the wine menu. 20 minutes went by and the server never came back. We left. The third-fifth times, we stuck to a few dishes that we have tried and liked, but the consistency of the food always varied (temperature, flavor, etc). Service was also inconsistent- we really enjoyed our third time with a bartender as our server. The other times, we had a difficult time ordering wine. Server not knowing the name of the wine we were ordering (and asking us to point out the picture on the tablet), not refilling water glasses, having to wait for the server to come back to check on us so we can order another round of dishes, etc. It's a good restaurant to get together with friends and share dishes. Although, not a place where you can count on good service and good food every time.

I have only been once, but I really enjoyed it. A girl friend and I got two dishes and shared them both, and they were both good (orrechiette and something I forgot!) and the ambience and wine were enjoyable. We were seated at the tall tables near the bar, and I enjoyed it there. I am not a huge fan of tablets as menus... after looking at a computer, iPad, or iPhone most of the day, I am not sure who wants to see more bright lights on their menu at dinner? I feel that it impeded conversation a bit since we were both clicking around, looking at pictures, etc. I am old fashioned, I guess. Just give me a paper menu and I am good! Other than that, I really enjoyed my experience here. It is a huge restaurant and would be good for groups.

Simply put, the best meal I've had in Ann Arbor. I can't complain about a single thing. The food, cocktails, service, dessert, coffee & ambiance all rank top 5 I've received at any restaurant. The service was especially good. Had the opportunity to try a specialty made, 6 course Valentines menu and it didn't disappoint. Return visit: After reading so many recent reviews I was hesitant yet curious to try things for myself. On my previous visits and review the food and service both were great. From the time you order to the time you get your food can take a little while and dishes do not come out all together. But this is how they wanted it to be because of the small plates. The artichoke, which has had issues with doneness my last visit, I was happy to see was cooked properly now. Service was wonderful as well. I wasn't sure which wine I wanted as they have so many and my server kindly let me try a small sample of the ones i was deciding between to be sure. I did notice that they have made adjustments since there opening. Happy Hour is different and they now offer a late night Happy Hour which I was pleased to take part in. They are now also offering a tasting menu where you can decide between having 4 or 6 courses available when five or more people order it which seemed appealing. I am not sure why there have been so many negative comments lately as we really enjoyed everything and look forward to returning. There are still so many dishes that I would like to try however every time I come I end up craving the same ones.

I don't ever go to a restaurant expecting the incredible food and service that I got last night at Mezzevino. I'm honestly blown away-- every single thing I tasted was mind blowing. As a vegetarian, I find my options to be pretty limited, but they were extremely accommodating, and offered meatless options on meat plates. I ended up getting a vegetarian flatbread pizza-type thing (I wish I could remember the name!) and even my very carnivorous family were astounded by how good it was. The presentation is also worth mentioning; all the food looked beautiful as well. The pictures on the tablets looked very similar to the actual food, just gorgeous. Our server was extremely friendly as well, although we did come in near closing (sorry!!!) and she visited our table frequently. Mezzevino also has a very nice selection of hot teas, and they serve their teas with raw sugar cubes which was a lovely touch. I can't say enough good things about Mezzevino, and the prices are definitely reasonable as well. My new favourite restaurant. I'll be back very soon!!!

Firstly I would like to point out that the service was mediocre. I sat by the bar near the kitchen and waiters and waitresses gathered up chatting among themselves. This was disturbing. They even teased with a waiter that was carrying a plate (I believe it was from my table) making him trip and break the plate. We ordered two appetizers and a main course to share. The timing was not right as we received one appetizer first, then the main course and later the other appetizer. The food itself was very tasty and the price reasonable.

Decided to check this place out the other night for the first time. Nice ambiance and decor. The menu had an array of options, lot's of appetizers and small plates kind of "tapas" style. We ordered a couple of the smaller plates and then later a larger entree to share. All of the food was excellent, the greek chicken and the hummus were particularly good. Our server was very friendly and attentive and helpful explaining the menu. I thought the prices were pretty reasonable for a downtown Ann Arbor restaurant. Would definitely come back again!

By far my FAVORITE place to eat. I come here for all celebrations & I live about 35 minutes away. Their eggplant chips are phenomenal & their lamb and hummus dinner is to die for. The wait staff is wonderful and the head cook Dexter is awesome!! I highly recommend trying Mezzevino!

The food was pretty good, our server/bartender was a bit pushy. My husband and I dined in for our first date night in months, and wanted a relaxing romantic googly-eyed night out with one another. The bartender wouldn't leave us be! We didn't realize that the table we were placed at was part of the bar service area. "Are we ready to get the first course in, folks? Ready to order now?" We told him we were just going to take our time, but minutes after being rushed into our first plate, he wanted to know what we were going to have for seconds. The first plate wasn't even there yet! Our romantic dinner was over in 30 minutes. My recommendation is, if you're in the mood for tapas-style food, head a few blocks up to Adventura, unless you're craving fast food, then Mezzevino is the place for you.

I met a girlfriend there yesterday for drinks and small plates. My cocktail was pretty good, though $9.95 seems pricey to me. Happy Hour pricing only applies if you sit at the bar, which I did not know until I got the check. I had the meatballs and the artichoke. The meatballs were OK. The artichoke was kind of tough, and there was way too much of the thick sauce. Service was EXCELLENT.

The ambience is really nice and I like the exposed kitchen and lamb spits..nice authentic touch. I came here on opening night, so they may have just been working their kinks out. We ordered three dishes between the two of us to share. The lamb and couscous appetizer, which was delicious but just slightly warm and definitely could have been better if it was warmer. We also ordered the orechiette pasta, which was also lukewarm and the pasta was over cooked/too soft. Other than that the pasta dish was very well flavored and a large portion. Lastly, the flatbread pizza was delicious.

All of the small plates we had were excellent - really, really tasty. The artichoke was well-cooked, with the leaves easy to pull off but not too mushy. The chickpea fritters were delicious, dense (I think they may have had polenta in them?), with a tomato sauce that perhaps could have been chopped a bit finer (in the sauce were a few more or less intact canned plum tomatoes. they were delicious, but perhaps would have been well-served by a light dice). The kale salad was bright, thanks to the pickled onions, and had several crunch elements that stood up to the kale, and the sweetness of the raisins to mellow the vegetal-ness. It was dressed exactly right for my tastes - enough to season the kale completely but not so much that I got heartburn from the acid. the eggplant chips were a standout - salty, crunchy, and the yogurt sauce was awesome. unfortunately my pasta dish was a letdown after all those great things. I had the pappardelle without the meat and it was inexpertly cooked. many of the ribbons had stuck together, leaving the interiors crunchy and uncooked and the middle layers gummy. I think it could have used more sauce (although maybe I only say that because I was looking for something to mask the raw pasta flavor). the bitterness of the rapini needed something to balance it out - maybe the pork serves that function in the normal version, but in the veggie version it left the flavors a bit out of whack, at least for me. I didn't eat much of it and would have much rather have had another order of fritters instead. I had a martini, which was good (I like them "a little dirty" and they nailed it), and a glass of the Nebbiolo, which I liked. They do a cool thing with the wine where they bring you the bottle and you have as much as you want and then at the end of the meal they look at how much you had (there are hash marks on the bottle) and charge you for that. it's a great way to get patrons to accidentally drink more wine than they realize, but it also saves you the patron the trouble of flagging down the waiter for a second glass. overall, the small plates were 5 stars and the pasta was 1 star. the service was friendly and the drinks were good, so 4 stars it is.

Pleasantly surprised with this place. We had a meat and cheese plate, hummus and the gyros platter. We enjoyed all of food and it was a good change of pace type of restaurant for us. The service was attentive and friendly. The physical space is great with an excellent bar set up. This would be 3 1/2 stars for me if I could.

I love mezzevino- for a special occasion, happy hour of for dinner with a friend. They have 1/2 off sangria pitchers during happy hour at the bar. Their crostini trio and their mix and match cheese/meat boards are great appetizers and their lamb is the best in town. I have never had a problem getting in on a busy night without a reservation.

Not sure where to start. This is just another small plate type restaurant that is there to make as much as they can. The hummus was super salty. The falafel was mostly just spinach, I thought it was a salad. This place is priced really high for the area with sub par quality. Portions are okay, prices are way too high for Ann Arbor when most of the people in the area are students. Price range is comparable to the areas in DC where people are making 100k and spending that type of money. I'll be surprised if this place last more then two years. On quality, it would be decent if Dearborn wasn't so close and the average Mediterranean is much much better and cheap. For down the street and get something at pita kabob for half the price and larger portion that taste 10 times better. Do not recommend.

This has generally been an unlucky spot for restaurants that don't seem to survive here (maybe because of how large the space is). We were excited about this newest Main Street Venture when it first opened up but unfortunately the food wasn't good enough to bring us back. We tried a variety of the small plates and it was inconsistently good or not so good. Their drinks were great but because our experience with the food was not so great we have not been back since.

I fear that the corner of Liberty and 4th is slipping into a cursed location for whatever occupies it. Too far from Main, too far from State, whatever is here just doesn't seem to get the kind of traffic it needs to stay afloat. I am just guessing of course, but we have been here three times and all have been easy walk-ins with a pretty sparse crowd. Can't see this place surviving on this meager flow, even if it is Main Street Ventures. Location might be one fault but the look of Mezzevino is not packin em in either, that's for sure. This place has one of the most ghastly decors I have seen anywhere. Lethal gigantic cast iron pans hang above diners' heads, impending certain doom (not really, I am sure they are well secure, but humans can't help but react a certain way to enormous pieces of metal suspended by small hooks just overhead) . Hideous plates, straight from your grannie's basement, hang from the walls as if they were the most normal thing in the world. And all of this with the ugliest Teal-Brown color scheme this side of the Mississippi. All of these touches for a Mediterranean eatery make about as much sense as an Amish Family style restaurant in a nightclub. Mixing offputting, vaguely dangerous-seeming and just downright ugly and tacky is not doing any favors here; the Look of Mezzevino Really Needs to Go. How about a nice neo-classical theme? Check out Mediterraneo if you would like to see a good example of this. The food however, can stay, as it is pretty good for the most part. Greek Chicken is really well flavored and juicy. Nicely priced too for what you get. The greek-lemon potatoes with it are excellent. Haloumi appetizer is well seared with just the right saltiness. Love that relish too. The Muhamara flatbread had a very snappy, piquant taste with its pickled small vegetables and some very nice use of herbs. The falafel on a bed of spinach with preserved lemon, onions, feta and sauce had a bit too much going on and flavors became jumbled. There were a couple other things I loved there but sadly they have already been taken off the menu-one was a vegetarian strudel of sorts and the other puttanesca pasta both of which were amazing. They seem in general to have gone more carnivore-centric with entrees, which seems odd for a Mediterranean restaurant; (But maybe not for one which seems convinced it is part Cracker-Barrel???) There is not a single vegetarian pasta dish to speak of any longer. Also love how they do wine here. They have notches in the side and you just pour yourself a glass (or can have waitstaff do it) and get charged for what you use. Service is very nice. There was a bit of a delay in bringing out my Greek Chicken to which they gave us a free desert. (Moroccan Creme Caramel which is *awesome*) Overall looking forward to coming back and trying some new things. (just not in the Pans O' Doom Room)

I have been here once before for an event and was happy with the food and service. Went back for my birthday and fell in love. The food was delicious, we all passed our plates around to sample each others choices, but the service was amazing. They went above and beyond. Very happy I choose this for my birthday, and will be back. The Italian Summer pizze, moussaka, and Greek chicken were phenomenal. Like, seriously. The eggplant chips were a little to greasy for my taste. The loukomades were to die for; the honey they used had a wonderfully sweet clover-like flavor. But that chicken though!! It was seasoned and cooked perfectly; tasted flame broiled and was incredibly tender. The cocktails were great too - I had the Evolving Eos, which had a fantastic flavor and wasn't too sweet. My friend had the Swinging Sultan and the Princess of Monaco - she said both were delicious and that the Princess was similar to a mojito. Overall, I'm incredibly impressed at the caliber of food and service for this restaurant only being open a few days! I will say it was pretty loud in there - we had to shout across the table to hear one another. Now if the servers would just work on their pronunciation of the Greek dishes... :-)

Ambiance was nice. The layout of the restaurant makes for a nice dinner out. The tablet menus are pretty great as you get to see pictures of the dishes as well as wine pairings. Service wasn't too bad. Our waitress was nice enough but like someone else mentioned, the extra staff were just awkward. The food itself is pretty typical for Ann Arbor. I'm usually disappointed because the concepts of the restaurants are great, they just usually fail to deliver on taste. The big thing you have to remember is that this restaurant is in Ann Arbor. It would easily flop in a city with an actual culinary scene. The timing of the delivery of our dishes was very awkward. We were a group of 6 and ordered a number of appetizers to split and a few main dishes. The waitstaff brought out the food in absolutely no order whatsoever. First out was someone's main dish (gyros). Maybe 10 minutes later another main dish (garlic chicken). After awkwardly waiting, finally some appetizers came out about 25 minutes later. After we finished our food, out came an appetizer salad. This made no sense. We also asked for hummus about 5 times, including speaking to the manager. There was never an apology, but that came out at the same time we got our check. Overall -- 1 star for ambiance and 1 star for the tablet menus. Oh, they also refused to acknowledge a birthday which goes against what their website says. Just another reason why I'd be surprised to see this place last very long.

In full disclosure I haven't eaten yet. But thought it was worth issuing a warning that happy hour prices do not apply anyplace but the bar (patio, rest of restaurant). Even when you specifically ask about happy hour specials, they will seat you outside without mentioning this fact. They did it to us and another table at the same time - both of our parties left after that, because seriously? Happy hour prices are happy hour prices. If they aren't, you should call them bar specials. Other places in town do not make this distinction that seating determines price.

We were a party of 6 people and got the pre-set family style menu and were not disappointed. I really don't understand why the reviews aren't better. This is possibly the best Greek restaurant I have ever been to! The hummus was fantastic and tasted unique and unlike any other hummus I have had. The pita bread seemed homemade and was also full of flavor unlike normal pita breads. We had the snapper on the pre-set menu which was amazing and I am not even a snapper person! The dessert plate they gave us was also incredible with so many different options! A bottle of wine is really cheap there and the service was great. My only complaint is that their happy hour for drinks is only if you sit at the bar and we ordered drinks and didn't realize this and they did not honor the happy hour price. Then again, it was stated clearly on the menu and we just didn't read it. Definitely, definitely recommend! I wish there was a Greek place like this in Miami! Also, the pre-set menu is 4 courses for about $22/person and you need at least 5 people to do it. I think it is only on certain days of the week so call in advance to confirm.

I hate to give this place only two stars because the service was AMAZING. But....it just left me wanting more. I had to actually send back a plate because it was so blah (chicken and chickpeas). I ordered the shrimp, fried cheese, cheese platter with prosciutto, some bread with an egg on it and the couscous. The couscous was good but I feel like the food just lacks flavor. I will say though that their service is impeccable. I will try again because I want to love it but just don't right now

Well, you'll definitely be engaged in some nice conversations, because the decor is not much to look at. As per usual, Mainstreet Ventures has outfitted this establishment with tablet menus (the power button is on the top of the right side for all you iPad users, and you can tone down the brightness by clicking the time in the bottom right and then the settings). I love having these menus, just tap on any dish and a picture pops up along with a little description. We ordered the hummus, calamari, meatballs, italian summer flatbread, and lahme (which is braised beef tips, before anyone gets confused). The hummus, calamari, and flatbread were really good. For some reason though, our lahme came with a different hummus (or so it tasted) that I did not like at all. The meatballs were just ok. Part of the poor rating was the service. [Skip this paragraph if you do not care about minor details regarding attentiveness in your dining experience] People were very attentive when we walked in (one person telling a hostess would be right- oh, there she is, then the hostess went to check on the table, then three other people informing us a hostess would be there to greet us shortly), but our waiter was not very good. He was pretty unhelpful at suggesting dishes, even though he began his spiel recommending that we order multiple little plates to share between us. We were constantly asking for water (they should consider the carafe on the table that many other restaurants have adopted) and he left the wine glasses on the table (and a marked bottle to encourage you to drink more, despite how cumbersome it may be on the table) which made fitting everything on the table a game of Tetris. What made this worse was that he assured us that the kitchen wasn't busy so we could get starters and decide on the main courses later, but then he never bothered to finish our orders until after we polished off the appetizers, further cluttering up the table with those menus. Of course, it was only after this that he mentioned the chicken our friends ordered would take 15 minutes to prepare, and actually by the time their food came out we had finished eating our lahme. None of this actually aggravated personally, just things that I noted about the level of employee training that might annoy others based on the price and the caliber of service you would expect. EDIT: I would like to add on this review that a representative from Mezzevino promptly contacted me to listen to my concerns and address them with the staff. I am looking forward to returning and seeing if the quality of service now matches the food.

A group of former co-workers and I met up here for dinner on a week night a couple of weeks ago and we had a really great meal. We ended up ordering the new 6 course family style meal for the group and it worked out great. Each course was 1 to 2 dishes and all were great. Everyone left very full and happy. Definitely recommend trying the 4 course or 6 course meal options if you have a group of 5 or more!

My husband, two friends of ours and myself went to Mezzevino on 1/23/15. We were celebrating my 30th birthday and it was also restaurant week. Our waitress ( whose name I unfortuantely cannot remember!) was simply amazing. She explained everything on the resturant week menu, helped us make decisions and also suggested her favorites. One of the people in our party has a serious food allergy so we made her sure of that right off the bat.. She was extremely accomodating and understanding. We had the hummus with pita, summer pizza and the calamari to begin with. The hummus with the fried chickpeas on top was fabulous. It was surrounded by a touch of chili flake oil which gave it some flavor, but didn't overpower it. The sauce to the calamari was fabulous and the pizza was gone in about 2 minutes. It was just so fresh and had such bright flavors. Finally, we also had the rustic greek salad. Instead of lettuce, the salad was made up of chunks of cucumber, tomato, kalamata olives, red onion and feta. Divine. The orreccheti pasta with lamb sausage is the stuff dreams are made of. It was simply out of this world. My super picky husband loved it and went back for more, even thought it didn't last very long. The beef tips and the chicken gyro platter were also amazing. I had never had beef with hummus but it was simply devine. Finally, the dessets were ingenious. Donuts with a honey lavendar sauce= YUM. We also had something that resembled baklava, but different. The wipped cream was homemade and super light and fluffy. It was simply an amazing dinner from start to finish. The dinner took us about 2.5 hrs to eat. All plates were sent out in a timely fashion but we didn't feel rushed or overwhelmed. It was an amazing meal and was only $28/ couple! We can't wait to go back soon. It was the perfect 30th birthday dinner :)

Given the other reviews of Mezzevino, I was hesitant to give the place a try, especially given its price. Needless to say, though, I was pleasantly surprised. Almost every dish we tried was pretty good. I would say the starter bread was a bit of a let down for me. The concept of the rosemary infused bread was good, but I felt the accompanying butter really didn't help bring out the flavor. Our first dish was the hummus. I had heard mixed reviews from the other Yelpers, but I would say that it was a pretty well done hummus dish. It was a bit on the thicker side, but also had a nice spice level. The pita bread seemed like your average store-bought kind, but still was nice and soft. We also had an eggplant crustini-like appetizer, with a poached egg on top. This had some excellent flavors and was very good. For more of the entree type dishes, we had the lamb flatbread and the Greek chicken entree. Both of these dishes were excellent. The lamb and goat cheese flatbread was cooked perfectly, and expertly seasoned. With the yogurt sauce, it almost got a bit soggy at times, but for the most part retained its crunch and depth of flavors. The chicken entree was also very good. The chicken fell of the bone, and the potatoes that accompanied it were okay. For dessert, we had the Loukoumades. These were like fried dough balls with a sweet honey sauce on top. They were also pretty good, essentially like a mini doughnut in a honey dip. Overall, I was happy with the dinner choice and will definitely come back again.

Went to a pre-opening dinner for a special event. Nice place, with trendy bare brick walls, wood floors, few glass panels, and pale green accents. Not all dishes were available (due to various circumstances with opening week), but what we did order was good. Dishes I would highly recommend (these were more eloquently named on their iPad based menus): Cucumber gazpacho (excellent!) Marinaded chicken over garbanzo beans Beef served over hummus - perfectly cooked and tender, but very salty Service was great, although it was a dress rehearsal for the staff and so each table had their own. I wouldn't give 5 stars for two reasons: First, many things were extremely salty (and I'm not usually one to complain about salt) - the sauce on the beef for one, as was the hummus. And the bouillabaisse was all but inedible. Secondly, it was crazy loud. I couldn't hear the person across from me, let alone the server describing specials. They need some more... something... to absorb the noise. I considered 3 stars, but given the promise of the dishes once a few opening night jitters are worked out, decided to give the benefit of the doubt. We'll be back!

Not really worth the hype. I was really surprised by the food and service at Mezzevino and not in a good way. I usually love all of Main Street Ventures' restaurants, but this one fell flat. The food was just okay and our service was, well, just bad. Not what I would expect from a Main Street Venture Establishment. The decor and ambiance were really nice though. I hope they improve as they're open longer.

Lots of potential but really disappointed. Went with my girlfriend last night, and we tried several small plate courses. Cliff notes: The crostini with eggplant and fried egg is one of the better bites of food I've had recently. Absolutely outstanding. The savory olive and pickled pepper crostini was good, but not great. The meatballs were meh. The eggplant chips were surprising and excellent. The Lebanese lamb flatbread was outstanding. The pansoti was one of the better pasta dishes I've ever eaten in A2. Really really good. In summation, the food here was pretty damn good. The decor is also excellent. Not sure whether to thank the brain trust at Main St Ventures, the architect, or the contractor that did the work, but well done all the way around. So why the 2 stars? In one word: service. Not good. It was fast, it was efficient, but it was basically Diner service. Our waitress clearly had been cut already when we were sat in her section and wanted nothing to do with us. Accordingly, she spent the minimum amount of time possible at our table. As we sat down, I basically set the expectation. "Hey, this is our first time here. Any suggestions on the cocktails?" Nothing. I even narrowed it down to two for her to choose from, and she had no guidance at all. Likewise, she offered no help whatsoever on the food. No help on the glass of wine my girlfriend selected. No two minute/two bite check to make sure that everything was good. Not once--and we were delivered food six different times. Etc, etc. Again, it was nice, fast, and efficient. But it wasn't the service I want or expect when i'm dropping $100 on a dinner for two. It was essentially Diner/Coney Island service. There's too many places in A2 for me to go where I know both the food AND there service will be great, so I doubt I will be back. If I do, I'll sit at the bar for sure.

The chicken with the chick peas was very good. Service was very average. The beef with brandy entree with hummus was over cooked and had no flavor. The lamb flat bread was very good but about he size of a large piece of pizza for $11.95 - way over priced! The wine list was impressive.

I tried Mezzevino during their opening week and found the staff to be attentive and service to be very prompt. The ambiance was nice and I'm surprised they were able to make the space that was formerly Champion House (remember that??) and Kuroshio look so rustic and different. However, none of this matters much because my entree, beef over the hummus, was SO, SO SALTY it was practically inedible. I told the manager about this hoping that this was an opening week mistake but reading some of the other reviews, it seems like this is still an issue. I had the worst stomachache afterwards. I will say the little pita bread they serve as an appetizer is pretty good and my friend got one of the pasta dishes and we found that it was a generous portion for the price. However... the hummus... yuck.
